Steer clear of govt affairs, Gov Nwifuru warns gossipers/mischief makers in Ebonyi

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, has warned that his administration would not condone gossipers and mischief makers,  who are bent on formenting crisis in the governance of the State.

 

The State Chief Executive issued the warning on Sunday while addressing a cross section of the people, during a Special Thanksgiving Service to mark his inauguration as 4th Executive Governor of the State, held at Emmanuel Catholic Pariah Edukwu Agbaja Nwofe Agbaja Izzi Local Government Area of the State.

 

Governor Nwifuru  frowned at those besieging the residence of immediate past Governor of the State Engr David Umahi to gossip, rather than allowing the man to rest.

 

“Do you want former Governor Umahi to start fighting somebody for a seat, he left yesterday, you will never cause crisis’

 

He commended the Bishop Emeritus of Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki Dr Michael Nnachi Okoro,  the entire Priests and the congregation for their presence  in the Thanksgiving service.

 

“My purpose of being a Governor was to unite every body in Ebonyi State”

 

Governor Nwifuru recounted that the ordeals and challenges that confronted him in life has humbled him .

 

According to him, “To Gossipers andd some people who want to cause crisis, I am stubborn, If I catch you, I will chop you”

 

Giving an insight of the composition of Government functionaries, Chief Nwifuru said that there were so many areas that need professionals to take charge and handle .

 

“The Leaders of this State will come together to guide me, so that I know the characters to appoint”

 

“You can not fight me, I have experience, I plead with Leaders to be patriotic’

 

He assured that a good number of faithful party would be accommodated in the government.

 

‘Our government will do justice to all issues that concerns the citizens of Ebonyi State, be confident and pray for us’

 

‘We get professionals to do the job of professionals, there are so many areas that need professionals to take charge and handle”

 

:We will start getting a lot of people involved in the administration, we will start main appointment before Friday this week”

 

The Thanksgiving Service was officiated by the Bishop Emeritus of Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, Bishop Michael Nnachi Okoro.

 

In attendance at the Church Service included wife of the Governor Mrs Maudline Nwifuru, Acting Speaker of Ebonyi House of Assembly Hon Kingsley Ikoro, former Governor of the State Chief Martin Elechi, Senator Chris Nwankwo, Senator Obina Ogba, Traditional Rulers, the Clergy and members of the State House of Assembly.

 

Others include the Cantonment Military Commander Nkwegu, Lt Col S O Atumode, Elders of the State Chief Ben Okah, Founding Fathers Professor Mike Awoke, Chief Cyril Otu, Chief Boniface Chima, State Chief Judge Elvis Ngele, among others.
