Remembering Chief Simeon Mbalewe after 30 years of transition

The Mbalewe dynasty in Umuaghara Uvuru, Aboh-Mbaise LGA of Imo State, today remembered the painful exit of their patriarch, Chief Simeon Okwuonu Mbalewe who died on the 4th of January 1996 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom and integrity.

Chief Simeon Okwuonu Mbalewe, until his death was a patriot and selfless leader who contributed significantly to the upliftment of Uvuru. He was a highly respected leader in Uvuru community whose sojourn on earth was full of impact and inspiration. Chief Simeon Mbalewe was in 1980 conferred with a chieftaincy title and became a prominent member of Ezeoha 1st cabinet.

He was like a Colossus that loomed large in Uvuru kingdom. Chief Simeon Mbalewe during his lifetime was a successful fashion designer based in Port Harcourt where he trained many youths in tailoring and other crafts.

In the annals of human history, there are rare individuals whose indomitable spirit and unwavering determination to succeed enabled them to carve out a lasting legacy, such exceptional men are Chief Simeon Mbalewe ‘s two sons who are United States based public health consultants ;Chief Chikezie Mbalewe, Akusinachi of Uvuru and Kelechi Mbalewe, Agu na eche Mba ndigbo na New York, who with nostalgia, remembered how their late father laboured assiduously to raised them up but regretted that their father died at an unriped age.

Kelechi Mbalewe said that his father’s good work to humanity will always be remembered and cherished.

Chief Simeon Mbalewe, a friend of the young and the old, died 30 years ago at the age of 66. He gave his very best in every assignment and position he held especially as chairman of Aladinma Umuaghara and Umuorianu Kindred meetings. He enjoyed tremendous respect and admiration throughout his lifetime because of his honesty, dedication and love for his community.

Chief Chikezie Mbalewe said that his father’s absence created a void that words cannot fully described, yet his memories continue to strengthen and inspire those who knew him.

Chief Simeon Mbalewe is fondly remembered by his wife, children and grandchildren, in-laws, among whom are Lolo Rose Mbalewe (wife) Chief Chikezie Mbalewe, Akusinachi of Uvuru Ikedinairi, Ejike Mbalewe, Nwaugo Mbalewe, Kelechi Mbalewe ( Agu na eche Mba ndigbo na New York) Chinwe Mbalewe and Mrs Chika Akwitti nee Mbalewe for children, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Sir Iheanacho Mbalewe Ksc, Ezeoha 111 of Uvuru Ancient kingdom (nephew)and several other relatives.
