Pan African Manufacturers to facilitate cross border trade–MAN

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) said the setting up of a Pan African Manufacturers body will help hasten the movement of goods across African borders.

MAN also said that the development will bring in seamless transactions in the African continental free trade area (AfCFTA).

President of MAN Engr. Mansur Ahmed while speaking in Lagos explained that the platform would create an avenue where manufacturers from any part of the African continent will be able to meet and discuss their local products

According to him, the platform will also guide against the dumping of goods from other continents into the African market, stressing that the concept of AfCFTA was to promote locally produced products from African nations in an enlarged market space.

Director-General of MAN Segun Ajayi-Kadir said that the body will continue to champion its advocacy moves in ensuring that players in the Nigerian manufacturing sector receive a better deal and an enabling environment for business to thrive.

Ajayi-Kadri who spoke with the Commerce and Industry Correspondent Association of Nigeria (CICAN) in Lagos maintained that MAN will continue to be the key driver for economic growth in the country.

The Pan-African Manufacturers Association is a Business Membership Organization.

Daily Champion recalled that the establishment of the Association was motivated by the desire to pursue the industrialization of Africa and the overall economic well-being of the Continent.

This Association serves as a central continental body that would engage the African Union and other continental bodies on behalf of African manufacturers on matters concerning the growth and development of their industry.
