In an effort to provide citizens with reliable information before, during and after the August 15 governorship election, Civic Intel Africa has deployed 238 trained observers across Osun State to independently monitor and document electoral activities.

The technology-driven election monitoring initiative, powered by Tech Pro Institute of Nigeria, was launched in Osogbo on Saturday.

Speaking at the lunch in Osogbo on Saturday, the Managing Director of Tech Pro Institute of Nigeria, Oladuntoye AbdulMojeed, said the initiative allows observers and citizens to document incidents in real time through photographs, videos and detailed reports, with information submitted to the platform subjected to verification before publication.

He added that the initiative was established to create an independent and credible record of the electoral process without influencing voters or interfering with election activities.

AbdulMojeed said, “We are not here to tell anybody to vote for anybody. We just want to have a documentation of what happens. We want the citizens to have a documentation and have a way of reporting everything that happens during the election and even before.

“238 observers had already been registered for the Osun election, with training ongoing ahead of their deployment to polling locations across the state.

“We are a civic intelligence platform committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and informed democratic participation. Our goal is simple , to empower every citizen with trusted civic information and provide practical tools that make participation in democracy easier and more meaningful.

“Through CivicIntel Africa, citizens can report election and civic incidents in real time, access verified reports from across the country, monitor public sentiment, and benefit from voter education resources, infographics, videos, election guides, and other civic materials.

“Every verified report contributes to a more transparent electoral process and helps strengthen public trust.

“Although CivicIntel Africa is built to support civic engagement and election monitoring across Nigeria, our immediate focus is the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election.”
