Olubunmi Adeyemi promoted to Software Team and Quality Lead at one of the world’s largest oilfield services companies  

Olubunmi Adeyemi, a native of Ogun State, Nigeria, has been promoted to Software Team Lead and Quality Lead at one of the world’s largest oilfield services companies, just eight months after her last promotion.

Ms. Adeyemi brings 15 years of increasing levels of responsibility in the oil and gas (O&G) industry, starting as a field engineer and software support engineer and moving into more senior roles in quality management, process improvement, and product development life-cycle methodologies in the United States, France and China.

In her first leadership role, Ms. Adeyemi manages nearly a dozen software and quality engineers who are responsible for a worldwide software development process that acquires reservoir evaluation data used to make costly and irreversible decisions in the field.

Throughout her career, she has delivered state-of-the-art tools and technology critical to the success of worldwide field operations, leading to reduced service quality incidents and leaked defects.

In 2020, Ms. Adeyemi validated an essential sonic tool that detects fractures, also known as bed boundaries in lateral wells, and a pulse neutron generator tool that measures the mineralogy, total organic carbon, and rock matrix properties. Because these verification and validation strategies are very effective in delivering flawless operations, they have been implemented worldwide.

She also managed the first-of-its-kind ecosystem maintenance project using live operations data to accurately measure the distance covered by a key conveyance tool, tractors; a measurement that serves as a trigger for maintenance. This intelligent system completely eliminates human entry, delivering significant cost savings and dramatic reduction in errors.

Ms. Adeyemi’s long and impressive list of achievements amassed over the years has been widely recognized by her peers, and she is considered a worldwide expert in her domain. She has authored manuals and published numerous industry guidelines for acquiring Wireline data. One area of her field work is authoring and validating an original solution that initiates the automation of a new technology; a patent memo with reference IS21.4322 is being filed for this exemplary work.

Ms. Adeyemi received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is a certified Project Management Professional, and holds a testing certification from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
