Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has announced that its customers can now check their eligibility for the federal government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) and access the funds via its USSD Channel.

The initiative, led by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is designed to provide direct financial assistance to vulnerable Nigerian households to cover essential needs.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Moniepoint Microfinance Bank, Babatunde Olofin while commenting on the initiative, said, “We are pleased to enable our eligible customers to receive this relief support from the Federal Government’s NERSI initiative.

“At Moniepoint, we recognise its importance and are happy to contribute our technology and infrastructure to make the process seamless and secure in line with our avowed commitment to creating financial happiness for every Nigerian.

“We urge our customers to remain vigilant and use only our official USSD code when checking their eligibility or accessing the funds.

“The process comes at no additional cost and requires no extra documentation or third-party intervention.

“Their security remains a priority, and we encourage anyone with questions about the process to contact our customer service team or the official NERSI helpdesk on 0700 022 2222,” he said.

Through this initiative, the federal government is providing ₦50,000 in financial support to eligible beneficiaries as part of its broader efforts to cushion the impact of prevailing economic pressures.

As one of the payment providers selected by the federal government to facilitate NERSI disbursements, Moniepoint MFB is leveraging its extensive digital banking infrastructure to provide an accessible channel through which eligible beneficiaries can receive their funds.

Customers can check their eligibility by dialling *5573*27# from their registered phone numbers and select the option to check their status.

Customers confirmed as beneficiaries will be guided through the steps to accept the support and receive the funds into their Moniepoint account, with no fees applied.

Beneficiary selection is based on the Federal Government’s established eligibility criteria and verification processes, which are designed to identify vulnerable households.

The process draws on verified national identity records and the National Social Register.

As the programme is being implemented in phases across the country, not all customers may qualify or be selected at the same time. Access to the relief fund is therefore subject to government verification and selection.

Moniepoint, which is Nigeria’s largest distributor of financial services, has established a proven track record as a trusted execution partner for high-scale public sector initiatives, deploying robust financial infrastructure to drive transparency, security, and last-mile reach.

Recently, in strategic collaboration with key government institutions including the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and the Kaduna State Government, Moniepoint delivered critical interventions across diverse mandates ranging from facilitating subsidised food distribution to over 800,000 beneficiaries and securing revenue collection for national fertiliser programmes, to disbursing ₦3 billion in direct empowerment funds to 2,400 vulnerable citizens under an Ultra-Poor Graduation Programme.

Moniepoint’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting initiatives that expand access to financial services and deliver meaningful value to Nigerians.

Leveraging its extensive digital banking infrastructure and nationwide network of POS terminals spanning all 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.

Moniepoint is well-positioned to support the Federal Government’s efforts to extend the reach of the intervention and make it easier for eligible beneficiaries across the country to access their funds.
