Mgbowo Agog As Gen. Azinta Rallies All Parties For Nwakaibie

By Cosmas Chukwu

In politics, real leadership is not declared on podiums during election cycles; it is proven in moments of quiet empathy, human connection, and personal presence.

Arriving directly in Enugu State from Lagos following a critical engagement with the business community at Alaba International Market, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Chief Geoffrey Uche Nnaji (Nwakaibie), chose not to retire home for rest. Instead, his conviction as a leader took him straight to Mgbowo in Awgu Local Government Area on a condolence visit to Rtd. General Fidelis O. Azinta, who was laying his uncle to rest.

This is the hallmark of Nwakaibie: a leader who shows up in moments of joy and sorrow, in rural communities as in urban markets, remaining consistently connected to the people long before election day.
A General’s Declaration: “God Will Fight Your Battle in 2027!”
Standing before a gathering of community leaders, elders, and party representatives, Rtd. General Azinta spoke with the gravity and authority of a battle-tested military leader:

“I wish you luck in what you are aspiring to become. I know everything that happened before, and I wish that God will fight your battle this time, for you to become the Governor of Enugu State come 2027.” — Rtd. General Fidelis O. Azinta

When a military General speaks, he does so with strategic precision. By declaring that “God will fight your battle this time,” General Azinta elevated the 2027 gubernatorial race beyond conventional political contests, framing it as a righteous cause backed by divine providence and public goodwill.
Breaking Political Barriers Across Awgu LGA

In an unprecedented political realignment, Rtd. General Azinta convened leaders and stakeholders from across political divides including members of rival political parties to rally behind Chief Uche Nnaji.

The walls of partisan division are collapsing in Awgu. From Mgbowo to surrounding communities, the consensus is clear: the quest for responsive, accountable governance transcends party lines.

As the doctrine affirms, true leaders do not operate in isolation, they build wide coalitions of competence, unity, and shared purpose across all 260 wards.

Something big is brewing in Awgu; something transformative is unfolding in Enugu State. When God fights a battle and the people stand united, victory is assured.
