Lead our party to another electoral victory in 2027, Governor Mutfwang tasks new Plateau PDP executives

DANIEL DAUDA, Jos

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has charged the newly elected executive committee members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) to work assiduously for the party’s reelection victory come 2027.

Governor Mutfwang threw the challenge over the weekend (Saturday, 25th October, 2025) when PDP delegates across the 17 local government areas of Plateau converged to elect their party executives.

Daily Champion reports that the statewide Congress which held at Waye Foundation, Doi, Jos South LGA was spearheaded by RT. Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu as the chairman electoral committee, supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the PDP National secretariat.

According to Mutfwang, your first and most important task is to unite the party within your areas of influence, ensure that all divisions are healed saying, the era of exclusion is over.

“This is a season of renewal and alignment. Those who truly belong will stay, and those who do not will naturally fall away.

Do not be unsettled by any shake-up—remain steadfast. Every grievance will be addressed, and no one will be discriminated against.

“Ensure that the State Secretariat functions efficiently and that all zones remain active and engaged.

We must hold regular meetings, maintain close coordination, and move forward as one happy, united family toward 2027.

“I urge you to put aside selfish interests. If anyone doubted your capacity during this process, go back and prove them wrong—show them that you are a team player and a builder.
That is the spirit I want to see in all of you.

“There must be no camps or factions in the party. As of today, factionalism in the Plateau PDP has ended.

We are one family, under one leadership, under one umbrella. I wish you all a successful tenure”, the governor stated.

The newly elected chairman, Chief Raymond Dabo, said this is a call to duty, “and we must all embrace it with unity and commitment.”

He commended PDP family for the mandate and confidence reposed on them, calling for support from all and sundry as the 39-man executive committee cannot do it alone.

“By Monday or Tuesday, after our first meeting, we shall begin a statewide engagement with delegates and party leaders. We will go from house to house, door to door, and ward to ward, pursuing genuine peace and reconciliation.

“One thing I want to assure you is that this new executive will conduct transparent, credible, and inclusive primaries that will strengthen our party ahead of future elections.”
