It was a glorious gathering of people of goodwill on Friday January 30, 2026 at the Ikorodu area of Lagos when Chief John Okechukwu Jemigbola rolled out the red carpets at his residence in celebration of his 70th birthday.
Chief John Jemigbola who retired from the Nigerian Ports Authority as an Accountant is an acknowledged community socialite, community leader and frontline member of St Patrick’s Catholic Church Owode, Ibeshe, Ikorodu Lagos where he motivated and inspired a legion of worshipers into contributing towards the growth and development of the parish leading to the parish giving birth to three other parishes; St Monica Igbogbo, St Catherin Offin and St Anthony the Claret Ikpakodo.
It was therefore not surprising that Chief Jemigbola’s birthday celebration provided an opportunity for his friends, relations and associates to eulogize him culminating into a challenge on him not to step back from the frontiers of community development but to see his new age as a platform for nurturing future leaders.
It was during the church thanksgiving service of his birthday on Sunday which held at SS Joachim and Anne, formerly St Anne Owode Ibeshe, an outstation of St Patrick that the parish priest of St Patrick’s Catholic Church Rev Father John Ukwa praised Chief Jemigbola for his contributions towards the development of the Christian faith
