I’ll lead the fight against child trafficking, domestic violence, says Plateau commissioner

The commissioner of women affairs and social development in Plateau, Mrs Caroline Panglang, said she is ready to lead the fight against child trafficking, domestic violence and other violence extremism meted against vulnerable women and children in the state.

Recent studies revealed that Plateau has been placed alongside other states of the Federation where child trafficking and domestic violence are on the increase.

The women’s affairs and social development commissioner expressed her determination to end the menace as she officially taken over mantle of leadership of the ministry.

Panglang who was received by the staff and directors of the ministry, promised to run an inclusive governance, noting that she is a team player.

“I am selected to represent the women of Plateau, and the grace of God we will make sure women on the Plateau are bring to the lane light of governance.

“I would ensure we enlighten, encourage and empowered women with a requisite skills acquisition, also address the age child trafficking, domestic violence and prioritize girl child education.

“I am willing and ready to bring my wealth of experience to the front bunner to execute the vision and mission predicted in governor’s Caleb Mutfwang led administration template”, she stated.

Director of administration and acting permanent secretary in the ministry, Mr.Michael Dockbish while handing over to the incoming commissioner pledged staff and management unflinching support and loyalty.

He said the capacity, competent and commitment to duty of the staff in the ministry is commendable.

There were goodwill messages by Mr. Sunday Dombin director planning research and statistics as well as Dr. Murtala Tsenba Magaji, staff officer ministry of women affairs.
