The Ondo State Government has directed all contractors employed by the present administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the construction of technical colleges in various locations around the State to expedite action in order to meet up with last year’s deadline for the completion of the projects.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Ogbeni Tayo Oluyi, gave the directive during a familiarization and sensitization meeting with the contractors handling the project.
Oluyi, said the meeting became imperative to interface and to assess what had been done in the past.
Besides, he said it would assist in measuring how to ensure the projects are delivered to time.
He recalled that after his appointment last year, he toured all the technical schools around the state to evaluate the level of progress attained regarding the ongoing construction.
Consequently,, he said the Board’s management team also provided valid information available in their records, giving an update on some bottlenecks being faced by some of the contractors.

The Technical Education boss emphasized that the Governor had further mentioned that any contractor who failed to deliver on the job as expected shall be sanctioned.
He emphasised that no excuse was tenable, as most of the wherewithal had been disbursed and at completion, no contractor shall be owed a dime.
Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant commended those contractors who had completed their projects and others who had on record an appreciable level of progress.
He therefore charged all contractors with pending projects to return to site with immediate effect, promising that the state government shall ensure the cooperation of the benefitting communities so that the project can be executed successfully.
Project Supervisor, Arch. Onibudo Gbenga, said the house recorded the level of progress so far regarding the project.
