The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally zoned it national chairman to the North-central while national Secretary position goes to the South-west.

 

In a statement just released by the Director Publicity Salihu Na’inna Dambatta, said the South-east will produce Deputy national chairman South, South-south to produce Deputy National Publicity Secretary among others.

APC CECPC Approves Zoning Formula for National Convention*

During its regular meeting on March 8, 2022, the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) approved the recommendations of the Committee on Zoning as detailed below:

Zonal Representatives on the CECPC wil coordinate the process in each zones.

Meanwhile, Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Niger State Governor, Sani Bello, has said the interim committee will deliver a hitch-free convention.

 

Bello also said the March 26 date for the convention remains sacrosanct.

 

Addressing newsmen on Wednesday at the end of their meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, the governor also announced that the number of some sub-committees for the convention had been trimmed.

 

He said, “For those of you that have been monitoring events in the national secretariat since Monday we have started the effort to ensure that there is free and fair convention.

 

“We have made efforts to see a successful convention and part of those efforts was to inaugurate chairmen and secretaries of the committees in consideration of tract records and loyalty to the party.

 

“We task you that you exhibit these qualities to ensure the success of the convention. I know a lot of our party faithful wanted in one way or the other to serve in various committees as their support or contributions towards a healthy party. However, we must be mindful that we cannot accommodate everyone in the committee.

 

“So we trimmed down the number to workable size without undermining anyone and I think this decision is the best for our party.

 

“I want to remind you that you have to work hard to ensure that the national convention holds on 26th of March 2022. That day is sacrosanct insha Allah.”

 

The media sub-committee now have Gov Abdullah A. Sule Chair and Alhaji Lai Mohammed as compared chair, while Mal. Garba Shehu will now serve as Secretary. Former Aviation ministry Femi Fani-Kayode has been removed as the Deputy Chairman of the media sub-committee.
