Ebonyi Federal Lawmaker distributes Instructional Materials worth millions of naira to Primary Schools in his Constituency

The member representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency in the House of Representative Abuja Chief Edwin Anayo Nwonu, has distributed Instructional Materials worth millions of naira to some primary schools in the two Local Government Areas that make up the Constituency.

Presenting the materials to the Head Teachers and Stakeholders of the benefiting schools at his country home Ekah in Ezza North Local Government Area, Hon Nwonu represented by a University Don. Mr Felix Nwankwo, said  that the distribution were part of his 2020 Constituency Projects to improve Teaching and Learning in the area.

The Instructional Materials provided by Hon Edwin Nwonu include over One Thousand Customized  Desks with Exercise Books and Executive Office Chairs for the School Heads and Teachers of the benefiting Schools.

Hon Nwonu who is equally the Chairman House of Representative Committee on Reformatory Institutions explained that his visit to some of the schools in the constituency, revealed that there lacked Seats and Reading Materials that enhanced quality education.

“This lack of seats and other Instructional Materials prompted my desire to come to the aid of the schools and provide Instructional Materials,  the essence of this is to support our children in various primary schools”

“During the visit to various primary schools we  discovered that some of the schools do not have enough seats, and inorder to make some of this kind of environment conducive the pupil has to be comfortable in the good sitting position.

“We have continued in this direction for a very long time now, but this one because of the nature of the facility we decided to provide this equipments”

Hon Nwonu stressed the need for Stakeholders from the benefiting Schools to assist in taking proper care of the equipments to avoid mismanagement.

“Any person that collected this should make sure that as you are going there in the primary school, it is meant for for adequate learning, we have the one for offices, we have others for the teachers who are there

In a remark, two of the Head Teachers of the benefiting schools Community Primary School Amegbu  Agba in Ishielu Local Government Area Mr. Ndubuisi Nwankwo, and his counterpart of Community Primary School Ekkah Mrs Charity   Nwazunku, expressed   gratitude to Hon Nwonu for the gesture.

“We will make sure that the equipments are channeled for proper use, they are some meant for offices, we are going to handle the equipments well”

The Headmaster of Amazing School Nkalaha Mr Linus Igboke expressed  gratitude to Hon Edwin Nwonu, emphasizing that the gesture will beef up the standard of Education in their schools .

Two youth Leaders Mr Ifeanyi Ubi and Mr Monday Ituobo  extolled Hon Nwonu for the provision  and promised to ensure proper use of the equipments.

The benefiting Schools are Community Primary School Amegu Agba, Amazing School Nkalaha, all in Ishielu as well as Community Primary School Ekka, Community Primary School Ndiegazu and Unity Primary School Oshiegbe in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State .

Highlights of the event was the flag off of Youth Empowerment Programme by Hon Nwonu for his Constituents in Ekkah Community.
