Dogara alarmed over burden of poverty , Killings

The speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has alarmed over the burden of poverty weighing down Nigerians and blamed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for bringing such calamities on the masses since the past three years.

He also lamented on how the Federal government have set the country 10 years backward, and criticized them for creating hunger, sufferings and insecurity across the country, saying that hardship is affecting all the Geo-political zones.

He also said,” The second Niger bridge that Buhari Administration are wasting time but when you look at Atiku Abubakar,he is somebody that is capable ,Peter Obi would like to improve education, economic and other things which the people of Nigeria will benefit from.”

Speaking at a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally organized by Prince Chukwuka Onyema who is canvassing for support and votes and his re-election to the House of Representatives, yesterday at Central School, Atani, in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Dogara urged the electorates to vote for all the PDP candidates in the area for quality representation as well as the ability to attract development to Ogbaru.

He said businessmen, traders etc and market women in the South East know now find it difficult to get access to funds, while manufacturers are all cash strapped, adding that parents can’t pay their children’s educating bills, buy book etc

He added that Buhari government has failed to deliver and could not provide democratic dividend to the mass, adding, “Government has not been able to fix roads in the South East especially the Enugu – Awka – Onitsha expressway – the roads is so bad that it can swallow a trailer.

In his speech, Hon. Onyema, who blamed Nigeria’s’ economic woos on APC, lamented that there is hunger, sufferings and insecurity across the country, stressed that the hardship is affecting all the Geo-political zones.

He said that he has never been a bench warmer at the National Assembly, insisting that has always been adjudged as one of the most active Principal Officers at the 8th House of Assembly, with several bills, motions and petitions accredited to his name.

He further said he has served as member in eight committees, just as he recalled that he has represented the Speaker in 65 committee activities, adding that he had served as the chairman of Ad-hoc committee that intended to enhance revenue generation, in order to ensure proper well being of Nigerians, especially Ogbaru people in Anambra state.

Onyema said that he has done much to improve lives in the health, education and road infrastructure; welfare of indigent women, youths and disabled persons, while also empowering youths, widows among others in his constituency.
