Flowing from the wave of defections facing Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon (Arc) Setonji Koshoedo, the Deputy  National Secretary of the party has appealled to members of the party to calm down and allow the situation to serve as a springboard for revamping the party to win elections at the long run.

Koshoedo said that though the situation is alarming and could bring panic among members, committed members should not worry.

He likened the occurrence to the biblical story of Gideon, who thought he needed thousands of soldiers to fight a battle, but eventually used a few to win the battle, noting that those defecting are actually those the party does not need to make its mark of saving Lagos.

He confirmed that PDP, both at the national and in most states, Lagos Chapter inclusive, have been driven down to the bottom of the valley by the ruling party, APC, and there is no other way to go than to start climbing up back, but he assured party members and supporters that like minded leaders were already taking required steps to address the situation so as to ensure that its goal of salvaging Lagos State from the stronghold of the All Progressives Congress cabal currently plundering it will be achieved at the long run.

The PDP National Officer reiterated that Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and Ms. ‘Funke Akindele remain the party’s candidates in the forthcoming gubernatorial election of Saturday, March 18, 2023 adding that an abnormal situation needs an abnormal solution. Therefore, the leadership of the party is poised to do all that are legally possible to emerge victorious in the March 18, 2023 elections.

He appealed to the voting public to join hands with the Peoples Democratic Party to liberate the state from the hegemony of man, he then urged Party members to hold their heads high and remain resolute in the Party’s march to glory for all its candidates in the elections.
