The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced its request for bids from qualified contractors to upgrade the information and communication technology facilities at its dealing room.

The upgrade of the CBN’s Dealing Room becomes expedient as it is responsible for managing the country’s foreign exchange and government securities. This will ensure stability and security of the financial system.

The announcement was made on the apex bank’s website with the title —Request for Proposal for the Upgrade of the ICT Facilities at the Central Bank of Nigeria Dealing Room, Abuja.

The CBN noted that the urgent upgrade of the facilities will prevent further disruptions to the services of its dealing room.

The statement read, “To enable both departments to carry out their responsibilities efficiently and effectively, the bank established a world-class dealing room at the headquarters and equipped it with ICT facilities in 2015.

“The ICT facilities have, however, attained end-of-life or end-of-support status and have resulted in suboptimal performance.

It stated that proposals from a single vendor or from multiple vendors working together as a team will both be considered.

According to CNN, interested contractors must submit their bids latest by June 14, 2024, and must meet certain requirements, including evidence of previous experience in similar projects and a minimum turnover of N500m in the last three years.

The financial regulator said it reserved the right to reject any bid that did not meet the requirements and to annul the procurement process at any time without incurring any liabilities as it seeks certified vendors with verifiable capacity and experience in implementing the required solution, including experience in the public sector, but not mandatory.
