A former national Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George has boasted he spearheaded the victory of the party in South-West during the 2003 elections.

George who is a member of the Board of Trustees of PDP gave the remark in a release made available to our correspondent on Monday.

The remark was coming on the heels of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike’s criticisms of Bode George over his political clout in the party.

Wike, had on Monday, taken a swipe on George over his comment on the ground rent the PDP owes the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

Earlier, Chief George said Wike should have paid the ground rent, which led to the the sealing of the PDP’s national secretariat, to demonstrate his loyalty to the party as a major beneficiary.

But while speaking during a live interview with select journalists on Monday, the minister said though neither he nor George could pay the debt because it was not in their names, the BoT member was also indebted to the FCT Administration.

“What is ₦7 million? He should have just said to them, ‘Okay, ₦7 million, I’ll pay from my pocket. Take the receipt back to the party’s secretariat. You see, you people are foolish.

“‘I’m completely committed to this house; I am completely loyal to this house. I will not decimate it. This is the receipt, give me back my money.’ That is what you call a true son of that family,” Bode George had stated.

However, in his response to Wike, Goerge stated, “I will not dignify Wike with any response. It is not worth it. Nigerians know what is wrong with him.

“As South-West Leader of PDP in 2003, I delivered Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states to our party.

“We also won in Lagos but the result was manipulated. Elders in Wike’s family and Rivers State should save him before it is too late.”
