Working People United, WoPU, has hailed the appointment of former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential election.
The National Coordinator-General of the group, Williams Akporeha, described the appointment as a strategic decision that reflected the confidence of the APC leadership in Yari’s political experience, organisational capacity and ability to mobilise stakeholders across the country.
Akporeha, in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said Yari’s years of experience as a former governor, senator and seasoned political leader had prepared him for the responsibility of coordinating the party’s presidential campaign.
He said the 2027 presidential election would be significant to the future direction of the country, particularly as Nigeria continues to implement economic reforms and pursue measures aimed at strengthening national development.
According to him, Yari’s appointment provides the APC with an experienced hand capable of coordinating the party’s structures, deepening grassroots mobilisation and effectively communicating the policies, programmes and achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to Nigerians.
