The Radisson Group and hospitality investor Chief Tajudeen Owoyemi will receive the Association of Nigerian Journalists and Writers of Tourism (ANJET) awards for their contributions to Nigeria’s hospitality sector.
ANJET will present the awards at its 2026 Conference at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
The conference, scheduled for October, will focus on Nigeria’s tourism industry and the Tinubu administration’s immigration reforms.
ANJET President, Okorie Uguru, said the honours recognised nearly 25 years of contributions by Owoyemi and Radisson to Nigeria’s hospitality development.
Noting the investor’s subsequent hospitality projects, he said Owoyemi opened Avalon Hotel Offa in 2005, when privately owned upscale hotels were scarce outside Lagos and Ibadan.
“For close to 25 years, Chief Tajudeen Owoyemi has quietly but steadily influenced and shaped the Nigerian hospitality landscape.
“Avalon Hotel became the reference point in hotel’s excellence in facilities and excellent services,” he said.
He said Owoyemi’s investments had created thousands of jobs while strengthening Nigeria’s appeal as a business and leisure destination.
Uguru said Radisson entered Nigeria in 2011 with Radisson Blu Anchorage, Victoria Island and had since expanded its managed-property portfolio.
He added that the company’s hospitality academy was helping address skills shortages in Nigeria’s tourism sector.
