The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied withdrawing its Presidential Campaign Council list ahead of the 2027 general election, describing the reports as untrue.
The APC dismissed the rumour insisting that the party had not announced any withdrawal of the list, enjoining the public to jettison the report.
National Publicity Secretary of the political party, Felix Morka, on Tuesday, said,“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced.
The clarification came after reports circulated that the ruling party had reversed its decision on the list recently released as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
The reports emerged amid ongoing political activities surrounding the APC’s campaign structure for the 2027 election, in which President Bola Tinubu is seeking another term in office.
His statement followed speculation over possible changes to the composition of the campaign council after the list attracted reactions from party members and other stakeholders.
Some APC figures had raised concerns over the inclusion or omission of certain prominent members, prompting further discussion about the structure of the campaign team.
Hence, the party’s latest position indicates that no official reversal has been announced. Morka stressed that any decision to alter the list would be communicated through the party’s recognised channels.
The clarification is expected to ease speculation over the status of the campaign council as the APC continues preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
Meanwhile, APC has announced the reopening of its electronic membership registration exercise nationwide from August 31, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said the exercise would take place across all wards nationwide, with existing members expected to validate their membership, while new and intending members would be encouraged to register.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged party stakeholders, supporters and members, both old and new, to participate in the exercise.
Morka said the exercise was designed to digitise the party’s membership register, ensure the integrity of membership records and enhance access to membership data for planning and management decisions.
“The E-Registration Exercise is designed to digitise the Party’s membership register, ensure the integrity of membership records, enhance efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions, promote internal democracy, and strengthen the Party’s commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria,” he said.
The party said registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number.
