The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Lagos State chapter has inaugurated its state and local government election management teams during a strategic forum with successful candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, held at the weekend, brought together party leaders, candidates, and stakeholders to review strategy, mobilisation plans, and preparations for the polls.
ADC Lagos State Chairman, Hon. George Ashiru, welcomed participants and outlined the party’s statement of purpose and strategic direction.
He announced the constitution of the state and LG election management committees and confirmed that data for all successful candidates had been uploaded on the INEC portal.
Presentations were also made on the composition and mandates of the state and local government management teams.
ADC Lagos Apex Leader and former Federal Minister, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, urged members to take the party’s message to voters across the state.
He charged participants to “go forth and give the electorate the ADC message of hope.”
The party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, spoke on preparations for campaigns, with emphasis on voter mobilisation and canvassing.
He said he and his team remained in ADC because of what he described as a transparent and successful harmonisation process, later affirmed during the party’s Annual General Meetings.
NWC member and retired Navy Captain Tunji Shelle called on members to prepare for the task ahead. Stressing reconciliation and unity, he said Lagos is winnable because residents desire change.
ADC Southwest Zonal Youth Leader, Mrs. Elizabeth Adeola Olusi, reminded participants of the need to engage young voters, citing the role youths played online during the 2023 elections.
The forum concluded with a call for stronger grassroots mobilisation as the party ramps up activities ahead of 2027.
