The Nigeria Police Force has paid its last respects to a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Emmanuel Ifeanyi Ezeozue, who was laid to rest in Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The Inspector-General of Police was represented at the funeral ceremony on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, who joined senior police officers, family members, friends and other dignitaries to honour the deceased retired senior officer.
CP Nnanna described the late AIG Ezeozue as a distinguished police officer and accomplished public servant who made significant contributions to the Nigeria Police Force and served the nation with dedication and commitment.
He said the deceased’s years of service and contributions to policing had left an enduring legacy, commending his commitment to duty and service to the fatherland.
The Commissioner commiserated with the family, friends, colleagues and associates of the late AIG, praying God Almighty to grant him eternal rest and give the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
Nnanna also appreciated serving and retired police officers, dignitaries and other sympathisers who attended the funeral, noting that their presence demonstrated the enduring bond of comradeship, solidarity and fellowship within the Nigeria Police Force.
The Anambra State Police Command joined the Nigeria Police Force and the Ezeozue family in mourning the death of the retired AIG, while celebrating his distinguished career, sacrifice and enduring contributions to the Force and the nation.
