The Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is also the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, has refused to join issues further with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his recent attacks, choosing instead to intensify nationwide grassroots campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s second term.
Rather than being drawn into a public war of words, Uzodimma, who also serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, (RHA), has shifted his focus by deepening the communication and mobilisation structure for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.
Under the new phase of the strategy, the RHA will launch a weekly television outreach and an expanded digital enlightenment campaign in the coming days to take the Federal Government’s policies and reform narratives directly to communities.
The Director of Logistics of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Alhaji Shehu Bala Usman, who disclosed this on Tuesday, said the initiative was designed to effectively deploy digital and new media platforms to enlighten the public, counter misinformation, and connect government reforms with voters at the grassroots.
He explained that the media push is not merely an information campaign but a full grassroots communication network that will penetrate markets, campuses, wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 general election.
Political observers noted that the move comes on the heels of calls by a group of lawyers who urged the FCT Minister to desist from personal attacks on the Imo governor in order to avoid conflict of interest and ensure coordinated campaigning for the President’s re-election.
It noted that Uzodimma has however, remained focused on building a formidable national communication machinery for the Tinubu administration, with the RHA earlier unveiling a digital platform that aggregates policy experts for reforms updates while integrating social media to widen reach.
The structure also provides for citizen engagement and feedback mechanisms, with its operational organs stretching from the national level to the states, local governments, wards and all 176,846 polling units across Nigeria.
According to the RHA Director, the development marks an expansion of Uzodimma’s broader media mobilisation strategy, which he first outlined at a national mobilisation retreat in Abuja in June 2026, where he warned that poor communication could distort public perception of government achievements.
At that retreat, the governor had unveiled an ambitious mobilisation architecture featuring 25 canvassers per polling unit, translating to a total of 4,421,150 grassroots mobilisers nationwide for the Tinubu re-election project.
He has since directed National Directors and Coordinators in the 36 states and the FCT to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public sensitisation on the administration’s programmes.
The latest media blitz, observers noted, signals a strategic shift from the Wike-Uzodimma political feud to the bigger electoral goal of consolidating support for President Tinubu and projecting his reform achievements as the 2027 election, which Uzodimma said would test public acceptance of the Renewed Hope Agenda, draws closer.
