Hotels in Kaduna metropolis are recording full room bookings ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign launch scheduled for Saturday as demand for accommodation increases.
The African Action Congress has asked President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In preparation for the APC’s campaign, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that selected hotels across the city revealed that several facilities had exhausted their available rooms, while prospective guests continued seeking accommodation.
The development comes as Kaduna prepares to receive members of All Progressives Congress (APC) expected to attend the presidential campaign event.
At Bafra Hotel, Yakubu Avenue, Ungwan Rimi, the Manager, Mr Christopher Ugbede, said all the hotel’s 149 rooms had been booked ahead of Tinubu’s visit.
Ugbede said the reservations were made in anticipation of the campaign flag-off, leaving the hotel with no available rooms for additional guests.
Similarly, the Front Desk Officer at Asa Pyramid Hotel, Lafiya Road, Janet Joseph, said all the facility’s 178 rooms had been booked for the event.
Joseph said the hotel had received reservations from guests planning to attend the presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna.
At Stone Edge Hotel, Bank Road, a Front Desk Officer, Mr Nura Abdullahi, said all the hotel’s 33 rooms had also been fully booked.
Abdullahi said prospective guests were still trooping into the hotel to make reservations, but staff had been referring them to other hotels because all rooms were occupied or reserved.
He said the continued enquiries indicated that some visitors were still searching for available accommodation ahead of the event.
At Epitome Hotel, Barnawa, the Non-Executive Director, Mr Paul Yahaya, said the hotel’s 88 rooms had been booked.
Yahaya, however, said the hotel was struggling to accommodate requests for 30 additional rooms because some existing guests were already occupying its facilities.
He expressed uncertainty about the possibility of securing the 30 rooms for prospective visitors, given the hotel’s existing accommodation commitments.
At Al-Ihsan Metro Hotel, Mogadishu Road, a Front Desk Officer, Mr Ambrose Ikechukwu, said all the hotel’s 67 rooms had been booked.
Ikechukwu said 40 of the reservations were made by guests coming to Kaduna for Tinubu’s campaign flag-off, while the remaining bookings were not specified.
However, the General Manager of Butterfly Hotel, Marafa, Mr Ibiloye Olanrewaju, said the hotel’s 104 rooms had received regular bookings from customers.
Olanrewaju, however, did not indicate whether the hotel had recorded additional reservations specifically associated with the presidential campaign event.
The anticipated influx of visitors is expected to increase demand for accommodation and other hospitality services in Kaduna as authorities prepare to ensure a hitch free event.
Meanwhiie, AAC also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for participants at the proposed event scheduled for November 11, 2026.
The AAC made the requests in a letter dated October 21, 2026, addressed to the President and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhai Ikpeminioghena.
In the letter titled “Request for Approval to Hold the Inauguration of the AAC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa and for Logistical Support,” the party said the event was part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
“On behalf of the African Action Congress (AAC), I respectfully write to request approval to hold the inauguration ceremony of our Presidential Campaign Council on the 11th of November 2026 at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, in preparation for the 2027 general elections,” the letter read.
The party said its request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for participants at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement,” it stated.
The AAC argued that approving the request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness and equal access for political parties.
“We believe that granting this request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination,” the letter added.
The party said it looked forward to a favourable response and requested information on the procedures and conditions applicable to the approval.
“We look forward to your favourable consideration of this request and would appreciate information on the applicable procedures and conditions for its approval,” it said.
Meanwhile, As the race for 2027 election draws closer, a socio-political and pro-democracy organization on the platform of Igbo Agenda Dialogue has declared its support for the presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Peter Obiand urged all  Igbos to give him bloc votes.

Making this declaration at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, National Chairman of Igbo Dialogue. Chief Chekwas Okorie said the organization’s choice of Mr Peter Obi was born out of deep reflection of Obi’s visionary  leadership and tracko record.
According to Chief Okorie, “The Igbo Agenda Dialogue, IAD, is a socio-political and pro-democracy organization of Igbo people in Nigeria and the diaspora. We are connected to all extant Igbo based unions, market associations, women associations, youth groups, and civil society organizations in Nigeria and abroad.
“We promote, protect, and defend Igbo political interests within the context of one Nigeria. We are the Igbo political grid.
“We have traced Igbo political antecedents in Nigeria before and after Nigeria’s independence in 1960. In this long history, Igbo people have, at various times and periods, collaborated with other ethnic nationalities to champion and promote national unity, especially in the area of the formation of previous governments during and after democratic elections in Nigeria. “
Having examined the political history of Nigeria as it affects power shift, Chief Okorie noted, “In the present build up to the 2027 presidential election, we painstakingly appraised all the frontline presidential candidates presented by the various political parties for the election.
“We considered their track records in the previous political leadership positions they held, their empathy and passion for the people of Nigeria, their physical fitness to rise to the onerous challenges of presiding over the country as large and heterogeneous as Nigeria.
“We also considered their probity and prudence in the management of public resources and with the outcome of this appraisal exercise, we consulted widely and extensively with all the extant groups earlier mentioned above, we came to the unanimous resolution that it will be in the best interest of Nigeria to elect Mr Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC) as the President of Nigeria come January 16, 2027.
“We are encouraged by the fact that Mr Peter Obi has earned the popular support of the majority of Nigerians across all ethnic and religious divide in the country. He is also easily the most visible Nigerian presidential candidate for the 2027 election known globally. We are further motivated to endorse Mr Peter Obi for the office of President of Nigeria because right from the inception of Nigeria presidential system of government, Nigerians have been compelled by certain circumstances to be limited to mostly gerontocrats in their choice of President till now.
“For the first time in a long time Nigerians have a singular opportunity to massively participate in the recruitment of the president of their choice in spite of various acts of intimidation and threats being bandied around by those who are in self-inflicted panic about the obvious defeat that awaits them in free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive elections.
“We seize this opportunity to urge eligible Igbo persons in Nigeria to come out in their millions to compliment other Nigerians who have already demonstrated their willingness to give Mr Peter Obi the opportunity to provide the much-needed leadership which Nigerians very much desire at this present time.”
Continuing he said,” In spite of the reluctance of previous Nigerian governments to conduct a credible national census, we can state without equivocation that Igbo people constitute a minimum of 25% of the voting population in each of the 31 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) or the second largest population to the indigenous population of these states while constituting over 99% of the voting population in the five states in the South East geo-political zone of Nigeria.
“We have a responsibility to join hands with all well-meaning Nigerians to usher in a compassionate, prudent, incorruptible leader in the person of Mr Peter Obi as the next President of Nigeria in 2027, with the able support of his compatriot who is similarly compassionate and people-oriented, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former Governor of Kano State who is his running mate in the presidential race.
“On a final note, we advise other Igbo politicians who are in other political parties who also have the right to campaign for the presidential candidates of their choice to limit their campaigns to issues while canvassing for votes for their preferred candidates. Igbo people are peace loving citizens of Nigeria, we have shown earlier in this address the support and collaboration our people and their leaders gave to candidates from other parts of the country and ethnic groups to win elections and form governments in the past.”
