Elizabeth Vincent, Yenagoa

Women from Okpoama kingdom and Twon-Brass in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, pledging to mobilise voters to secure his victory in the 2027 general elections.

The women made the declaration during a grassroots mobilisation tour of the two communities organised by Nembe-Se unites under its Ama-Ama Tour for PBAT campaign.

The convener and president of the group, Hon. Mrs Beatrice Numonyo Awululu, called for unity, solidarity and active participation in the political mobilisation efforts, stressing the importance of grassroots support in achieving the president’s re-election bid.

Awululu acknowledged the contributions of Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri; the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku; and Dr Kojo Sam to the mobilisation efforts in support of Tinubu.”

She urged the women to recognise their critical role in the democratic process, ensure their permanent voter cards (PVCs) were ready and mobilise eligible voters to participate actively in the 2027 elections.

She expressed optimism that Tinubu’s re-election would create greater opportunities for development and economic progress in Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

Speaking on behalf of the women of Okpoama jingdom, the community’s women leader, Iniemekuma Thompson, commended Awululu for extending the mobilisation campaign to rural communities and giving women an opportunity to participate actively in the political process.

Thompson also applauded Dr Kojo Sam, managing director of Labrador Security Services and Kojo Sam logistics, as well as the NDDC leadership, for what she described as developmental interventions in Brass Local Government Area.

She said the women of Okpoama would reciprocate the development initiatives in their communities by voting massively for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

“In 2027, we are going to vote massively for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu. He has done well for Bayelsa east, and we believe he will do even more for us if given another term,” she declared.

Also speaking, the secretary general of Nembe-Se unites, Mrs Abel Ikiomuna Faith, described the APC as the political party that had made significant efforts to improve the lives of rural women in Okpoama and Twon-Brass.

She expressed confidence that the commitment of the women to the APC would translate into massive electoral support for Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.

Faith urged the women to sustain the mobilisation drive and encourage more residents to participate in the electoral process, insisting that grassroots support would be crucial to the party’s success.
