The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that corps members serving in Imo State must strictly keep to COVID-19 protocols throughout the service year.
The Director-General of the scheme, Brig. -Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim gave the order while declaring open the 2021 Batch C Stream II orientation for corps members deployed to the state
Speaking through the state coordinator of the scheme Mr Jimba Chris at the permanent orientation camp in Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre local council area of Imo State ,Tuesday, the Director General, enjoined the Corps members to always keep to the stipulated protocols
According to him, ” corps members should regularly ensure observance of physical distancing, wearing of face masks and use of hand wash equipment in the camp and other places”
” Some say that the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer here but, we say it is still here and we must continue to observe the protocols”, the Director General emphasized
He urged the corps members to take their skills acquisition sessions seriously throughout the orientation course.
He said “the training has been designed to equip the corps members with relevant skills that would enable them create wealth and promote the economic development of the nation”
The Director General, urged the Corps members to maintain discipline and dedication all throughout the service year as envisioned in the NYSC Act and NYSC bylaws respectively
