We’re going to engage retired solders in counter insurgency, other crimes– Army Chief

The Chief of Army Staff,(COAS), Lt General Faruk Yahaya has said that the Army has concluded arrangement to engage retired solders in the fight against insurgency and other crimes and Criminality.

 

 

Speaking at the Validators Buffet at the Command Guest House, Maiduguri on Saturday night,organised to honour discharged solders from the rank of Master Warrant Officer and below within the 7 Division area of responsibility to appreciate their sacrifices, dedication and service to the nation, General.Faruk Yahaya said the Army planing to engage the services of the Ex service men in dealing with the Boko Haram insurgency and other security challenges.

 

While reiterating his commitment lead a better Nigerian Army, General Yahaya ” remain committed to ensuring the welfare of retired solders are kept inline with my vision of having a professionally responsive Army that will discharged it mandate”,

 

The COAS, who was represented by the theater Commander Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Christopher Musa said the ongoing efforts in.the war against insurgency is yielding more successes, as members if the Boko Haram insurgency/ ISWAP are severely being dealt with.

 

General Yahaya said the validations in honour of retires solder’s have come to stay, as the first occasion was held in December 2021, and this one, was the second in series, adding that it was aimed at honouring the solders for their sacrifices, commitment and service to the nation.

” I want assure you that the Army and Nigerian are greatful to you for sacrifices in ensuring that remains safe and united. As you retired , I urged you to be good ambassador of the Nigerian Army.”, he added.

 

In his remarks, the Guest of honour, Major General Junedu Bindawa said the discharged soldiers have under fine several courses, training and retraining, stressing that he was no doubt that with these wealth of experienced help succeed as you GI into civilian life

 

He said they should know that job in.the civilians environment is not only competitive but hard to g to.use the knowledge glesathe discharge training to start a businesses.

 

In.his votes of thanks, Maser Warrant Office, Saleh Jidda thanked the Army for honouring them and assured that we will good ambassador if the Army .
