Verve campaign: Animashaun emerges winner of FirstBank’s brand new SUV car

A business owner, Olakunle Animashaun has emerged the winner of a brand new SUV car at the just concluded FirstBank Verve Card campaign designed to reward customers for their continued usage of the Verve debit Card.

Upon receiving the car key at the grand prize presentation in Lagos, Animashaun who is the Chairman of KANWL International Limited, thanked FirstBank and Verve for the opportunity given to him, saying that he is overwhelmed with joy.

He said, “I didn’t expect it, initially I thought it was a scam when someone called me from the bank that I won a car.

“I was told to come to the bank the following day, I never wanted to go but my wife encouraged me to go. And when I got there, they congratulated me, saying that I won a car. They said I should come to the head office on the 5th of August, which is today. I didn’t believe it until when I got here today and the key was handed over to me. I thank FirstBank and Verve for this opportunity given to me, I am overwhelmed,” he said.

FirstBank’s Group Executive, e-Business & Retail Products, Chuma Ezirim, while speaking at the event maintained that the Promo was organized in collaboration with Verve Card Scheme to reward the over eight million Verve cardholders in the bank.

He said, “We are proud as a bank to partner with Verve Card Scheme; this partnership has span fifteen years. The essence is to deepen our relationship with the customers. We intend to sustain this partnership; it is part of our programmes targeted at rewarding our customers. For now, it is a yearly programme.

Ezirim noted that over N50 million was set aside for the promo which has rewarded many customers of the bank in various categories.

Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer of Verve International, Vincent Ogbunude said the relationship between Verve and FirstBank has been long-standing relationship for several years, adding that FirstBank is a leader in its own field, while Verve is the leading payment card in Nigeria

He said, “We have been collaborating with FirstBank for a number of years. What we have decided to do is that we have come together to reward customers. Both FirstBank and Verve have a common desire to reward customers, appreciate customers, give value to customers, and create the best experience.

“Having this promo is a way of manifesting our desire to do so. We have been doing it for some years and this time around we decided to give a brand new car to the winner. And this is just one of the so many other gifts. We have been able to give gift items ranging from television sets and other items. We are interested in keeping this going, so we expect that we will be doing more, this year and beyond, who knows, we may be having bigger brand prices going forward.

“The value that we are giving today is a unique value to customers and to banks as well. Verve has the unique advantage of being a card that fits your pocket. In addition to that, we are also going to have an always-on reward offering to customers. That is what we have in our pipeline and we believe that in a short while, Verve customers will begin to benefit from this offer,” he said.

During the promo, 2,601 customers won various prizes. These prizes include N20, 000 Cash Prize, N10,000 Cash Prize, N10,000 worth of airtime; power generating sets, refrigerator, cooking gas, and the grand prize of a brand-new car.

The promo rewarded customers on a weekly and monthly basis. In every week of the promo, 200 customers who carry out a minimum of 2 transactions with their Verve debit card stand a chance to win N10, 000.00 worth of airtime, cash prizes of N10, 000 and N20, 000.

Furthermore, 100 customers who performed a minimum of 8 transactions within 4 weeks with their Verve debit card were rewarded with a generator set, refrigerator, gas cooker or N50, 000 cash prize every four weeks.

The Verve Card Campaign promo launched earlier in the year and scheduled to end in March was extended to July 1, 2022, to accommodate more winners.
