Tragedy! Ex Mr Universe, pursued by assailants, shot dead in Anambra

A former Mr Universe, Slami Ifeanyi was weekendshot dead by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in Umubele village, Akwa, Anambra State.

Information gathered by Champion has it that the 31-year-old beautiful model was driving in his newly acquired vehicle when he was attacked and killed.

It was also learnt that he was pursued by the assailants in the night of Sunday from a popular spot in the state known as Ukwu-oji into Umubelu village were his tyres were shot and he ran into an electric pole before he was shot.

A source said, “He was driving his new car which he bought just two weeks ago when it happened. Although we don’t know why he was attacked it looks like a targeted attack.”

Slami, a model, actor and Nigerian music artiste whose profile was already moving up was known for his extraordinary sound, a mixture of Afro Pop, High life & RnB.

He was the founder of the SLAMI EMPIRE, which organised ANAMBRA GOT TALENT.

His death has continued to generate reactions on social media, especially on Facebook.

Chijioke Okanmelu said, “I’m speechless when I got the news of your death, Ifeanyi. But, I still don’t believe it yet because this was not what we discussed on the phone.”

Nwanya Bernard added, “This again tore me apart. Dude was my man from way back. He was hardworking, focused, talented and handsome. And today, I heard you’re gone.”
