Tech4Dev partners Microsoft, Federal Govt to empower Nigerians with digital skills

Tech4Dev has partnered with Microsoft, the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy and other stakeholders to teach digital skills to Nigerian government staff and youths.

Tech4Dev is a non-profit organisation that describes itself as a social enterprise that helps Africans get entrepreneurship opportunities through digital skills empowerment and advocacy.

The organisation says it is introducing its Digital Skills Nigeria (DSN) programme tailored to increase key government Ministries, Departments and Agencies staff, as well as young Nigerians’ proficiency in the use of technology.

For the civil servants, the DSN aims to “offer sustainable, scalable reskilling and employment services aligned to the local labour markets,” the organisation said.

Tech4Dev also noted that the DSN programme is an investment in the skills of civil servants to help them use technology to improve service delivery and enhance transparency.

The program will also provide access to digital skills training, from digital literacy to advanced training, for young people in Nigeria between the ages of 16-35 years.

“The programme endeavours to equip young Nigerians with in-demand digital skills, thereby enhancing their employability and reducing the unemployment rate,” Tech4Dev added.
