Catholic Men Orgsnisation (CMO) of St Anne Catholic Church Ibeshe, Ikorodu area of Lagos, an outstation of St Patrick’s Catholic Parish Owode Ibeshe, Ikorodu Lagos took advantage of this year’s Fathers’ Day celebration to mark the birthdays of three of their colleagues who were born in June

Among those who were celebrated at the occasion is Mr Emma Akpa who is the chairman of St Patrick’s Catholic Church CMO. Others who were honoured at the event are Mr Okechukwu Aguanake and Mr Mathew Olatunji.

One of  St Patrick’s Church CMO patrons Chief John Jemigbola who spoke at the birthday celebration which held as the highlight of the outstation’s monthly CMO meeting eulogized the celebrants describing them as worthy ambassadors of St  Anne Church CMO.

Chairman of St Anne’s CMO Eng Victor Madu used the occasion to challenge members to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity saying that the whole essence of worshiping God is to breed a better society considering the fact that humanity has nothing to give to God other than to love their neighbours as themselves if only to make the world more peaceful.

Eng Madu prayed for God’s favour over fathers all over the world in view of their daily struggles to make the homes function as a family. He acknowledged the fact that men are the pillars of the church. It was on this note that he pleaded for more support from them to grow the church.

Speaking on behalf of the celebrants Mr Emma Akpa thanked the members for their good wishes. He said that he look forward to similar occasion next year when the members of the CMO will gather again for such an event.
