Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman has been declared the winner of the State Assembly election for the Ningi Central constituency held on Saturday.
The INEC returning officer, Professor Shuaibu Muhammad who declared the results in Ningi, on Sunday, revealed that the Speaker polled 16,866 votes to defeat Hon. Khalid Abdulmalik Ningi of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who polled 15,065 votes, and Hon. Danlami Garba Bara’u of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who polled 4,886 votes.
In his address shortly after the declaration, Abubakar Suleiman expressed his “gratitude to Almighty Allah for the huge success recorded by him and other PDP candidates across the state.”
Also, He appreciated the people of Ningi central constituency for the confidence they repose in him by giving him another mandate for a second term.
The Speaker then commended stakeholders and voters for the peaceful conduct of the exercise in the state.
