Senatorial rerun: Umahi defeats brother, 3 others to win APC Ebonyi South ticket.

. As party sweeps all 13 LGs chairmanship, 171 Councillorship seats

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has been declared the winner of the fresh Ebonyi South APC Senatorial Primary election held last Sunday at Afikpo North Local Government Area of the State.

Declaring the result, the Chairman of the APC Senatorial Primary Panel Professor Emmanuel Adebayo Kehinde, announced that Umahi polled a total of 250 votes to defeat his closest rival, his younger brother Augustine who scored 10 votes.

According to Professor Adebayo, Mrs Ann Agom Eze scored Zero vote, Mrs Ibiam Margareth Ezenwanyi (3 votes) and Mrs Elizabeth Nwakaego polled five votes respectively.

“I Professor Emmanuel Adebayo, based on the Powers conferred on me by the National Chairman of APC hereby declare Governor David Umahi winner of the fresh Ebonyi South Senatorial election”

In an acceptance speech, Governor David Umahi, commended the electorate for the honour done to him.

“This ticket is a strong ticket, that is why somebody is working with the opposition to distract us”

“I accept this honour done to me by the delegates, this ticket, heaven knows its beyond mere Senator”

Meanwhile, the All Progressive Congress ( APC) has won all the 13 Chairmanship and 171 Councillorship seats in the Council polls held last Saturday.

Declaring the result, the Chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), Barrister Jossy Eze, said that APC Candidates won in Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Ezza North, Ezza South, Izzi, Onicha ,Ohaozara, Ishielu, Ivo, Ohaukwu, Ebonyi, Abakaliki and  Ikwo Local governments Councils respectively.

The Chairmen elects as announced by the Barrister Eze  include Mr Uche Ibiam ( Afikpo North), Ekumankama Chima(Afikpo South), Nwaogbaga Ebere Ogba (Abakaliki), Barrister Uburu Chinedu (Ebonyi) and Chief Ogodo Ali Nomeh (Ezza North local Government.

Other Chairmanship winners elected namely Mrs Euphemia Nwali (Ezza South), Barrister Sunday Nwankwo (Ikwo), Onwe John Obua (Ishielu),  Aja Ogbonna Emmanuel (Ivo), Barrister Nwakpa Stephen (Ohaozara)

“Futhermore, this Commission has received , considered and validated the result of each 171wards as declared in these wards by various Returning Officers all won by APC.
