He said that he wants the world to know that on the 14″ day of November 2022 an innocent and law abiding citizen in Gold villageof Butura land was attacked, maimed and killed while returning from the farm for just no reason.

The people he further said also should note that on the 15 Nov. 2022, a group of militia suspected to be herders, fully armed with sophisticated weapons and ammunitions launched an attacked on

Maikatako village also in Butura ward of Bokkos Local Government Area where

they killed and burnt to ashes more than 11 people, injured many and destroyed

More still, on Wednesday November 16, 2022 another gruesome attack was meted on some villages namely Folloh and Mai Jankaial in Butura ward where many other people lost their lives, houses and properties worth

millions of naira were equally burnt down by the attackers.

He said that four persons were killed in Kulias, three others in Makale all of Butura on the 24th October 2022 and 8th November 2022 respectively by the

same militia.

He informed the House and the public to note that over 300,000 hectares of crop farmlands had been destroyed by the herders due to deliberate and reckless grazing without caution and or fear of any body.

Most farmers he informed journalists have little or no harvest this year due to this wicked action of unscrupulous herders.

He expressed worries noting that that these attacks are just too many happening just within a month adding that the people of the affected areas of attacks have buried more than 30 able men and women including children.

The People’s Democratic Party PDP lawmker also hinted that  despite the presenceof operation safe haven; sector 5, the attackers appeared more armed than the security agents could either counter, repel or scare them.

According to him, the miscreants usually have a field day perpetrating evil for long hours without any form of provocation and or confrontation by the security, worst still, hitherto, no single arrest and no any deliberate effort has been made to bring these hoodlums to book.

The people further he stated are worried that this is a systematic, wellcoordinated and pre-planned

attack aimed at total ethnic cleansing and annihilation of indigenous inhabitants towards a slow land grabbing agenda.

While calling on the federal and state authorities and security agencies for assistance he pointed out that if nothing is urgently done to curb these ugly occurrences the situation may escalate beyond imagination and the entire locality and even the state may be thrown into confusion, chaos and total pandemonium.

The lawmker said that federal and state governments should rise to its primary responsibilities of securing lives and properties.

He asked rethorically if all the natives of these communities should all be kiled and slaughteredl ike chickens insisting that t is time for governmentt to act.

He therefore urged that the Federal Government urgently mandates the

Inspector-General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, Chief of Army Staff Lt.Gen Farouk Yahaya and other heads of security agencies to mobilize more security agents to the troubled areas to halt these attacks and killings.

Furthermore, the lawmaker called on these authorities to nvestigate the root causes with a view to bringing the culprits to book, restore normalcy and to forestall future occurences.

Most importantly, he asked that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development as well as

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) immediately send relief materials to the victims of the unfortunate attack to help provide a new lease of life and restore hope to the people.

The two term federal lawmaker also appeal to the international community, well-meaning spirited individuals, philanthropist and non-governmental organizations to come the aid of the people of Plataeu and rescue them as the remaining people, land, heritage are in danger describing the killings as ethnic cleansing.

The people he submitted are completely helpless and without defense and needed urgent assistance from all quaters.
