Presidential Election Petition tribunal verdict may make, mar judiciary – Importers Association warns

As the Presidential Election Petition tribunal hears petitions brought by aggrieved Presidential candidates of various political parties against the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Importers Association of Nigeria, warned Wednesday, that the verdict of the tribunal at the end of the day would make or mar the judiciary.

Sounding the note of warning through its chairman, Board of Trustees, (BOT), Chief Gilbert Obi, who is called ‘Bravo’, by his admirers, reiterated that the judiciary would this time around prove to Nigerians and the world at large if it remains the last hope of the common man.

Buttressing his point he said, “It is enshrined in our constitution that for one to be President of this country, he must win at least two-thirds of the 36 States and Abuja. Otherwise, you are making a mess of the Nigerian constitution.”

“As far as Nigerians are concerned, the judiciary is on serious trial and we hope they will not fail. INEC did more harm than good as the electoral umpire. They are a big disappointment to Nigerians,” he fumed.

On President Mohammadu Buhari’s eight years in office he said, “I will score Fail nine,( F9), he passed nothing, as far as I am concerned.”

Explaining further he said that “people are being slaughtered on a daily basis in Benue, Jos, Plate, among other places. We are happy that he is gone. Nigerians have suffered enough,” he lamented.

The BOT boss expressed optimism that God never abandoned His People in the time of hardship adding that the wish of the people will prevail no matter what transpired.
