A frontline Presidential Aspirant, Dr. Solomon Uchenna Wining has joined millions of Nigerians in condemning the gruesome murder of Ms. Deborah Samuel by religious fanatics over the alleged blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad.

Dr. Wining who spoke through his Media Directorate, described the action of some of the students of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, who perpetrated the act as barbaric.

He also condemned the indiscreet posting and distribution of the video of the incident on various social media platforms., stating that the primitive act of Deborah’s gruesome murder has further portrayed Nigeria in a bad light, in the comity of Nations.

The Presidential Aspirant called on security agencies, ,the judiciary, the Sokoto State ,and the federal governments to ensure that all those involved in the gruesome murder of Deborah Samuel are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.

He argued that the trend of religious fanaticism and intolerance has continued in the country because the Governments have not dealt with the situation and regretted that victims and their families had also not received justice, which he said, further emboldened the perpetrators and encouraged the act of impunity.

“This deeply disturbing action calls for a reflection on the state of affairs in Nigeria. It is an indictment on law enforcement agencies and all arms of government when religious fundamentalists do not just kill innocent citizens, despite the presence of police and security agencies, but dare to also record such criminal acts and post the same on social media platforms, and boldly take responsibility for the actions. It is a testament to the failure of the state to put in place effective laws and implement them’

Dr. Wining Commiserated with the immediate families of Deborah Yakubu Samuel, and the Sokoto state government and appealed to Nigeria youths not to capitalize on the harsh economy to unleash anger, hatred, and aggression on fellow citizens even as he assured that all forms of aggression will be addressed by him if elected the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He also called on religious leaders and women in the country to always teach and impact on their members the need to respect the sanctity of lives as commanded by God and Allah, even as he prayed to God to grant Deborah’s soul eternal rest.
