Oyetola inaugurates S’West Directorate of Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu Presidential Campaign

…Says ‘we’ve duty not to rest until last person is mobilised’

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Saturday inaugurated the South west Directorate of Grassroots Mobilisation, Engagement and Orientation of the campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, the aim of the grassroots group is to ensure electoral success saying “we have a duty not to rest until the last person is mobilised for Asiwaju/Shettima victory in February next year.”

Inaugurating the southwest group as the Chief host at Ileri-oluwa campaign office in Osogbo, Oyetola noted that Tinubu/Shettima ticket is powered by tested and trusted hands which will offer renewed hope for all sectors.

He said, “The Grassroots Mobilisation, Engagement and Orientation Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council is the principal channel for the expression of our conviction that reforming Nigeria answers to experience, competence and political will and not primordial considerations.

“We are here as the Omoluabi contingent to support a team that symbolises the competence, integrity and experience required to further transform the nation and take it to the next level.

“We are here to put South-west seal of excellence on a ticket that had been tested and trusted to deliver excellence in the throes of economic downturn in the past. We are here to support the ticket that promises to give renewed hope and sustainable development.

“As a group not new to our policy of political collaboration and inclusiveness in Osun, I am persuaded that you are well prepared to coordinate yourselves to ride on the wings of technology and the horse of traditional mobilization to hit the cities and the hinterlands until the last person imbibes the message of renewed hope.”

In her address, the director of grassroots engagement and orientation SW-PCC, Titi Laoye Ponle expressed readiness to deliver 90% of southwest votes for Tinubu.

She said, “There will be a great transformation if Tinubu comes in. We were inaugurated in Abuja for the campaign. By God’s grace, it will be easy for us. We have representatives from all the south west states. We will start from door to door, to units and ward levels across the states.

“We are determined to deliver 90 per cent of southwest votes for Asiwaju. I know you are all ready to deliver victory for APC presidential candidate. I want to admonish you to work assiduously in canvassing support for Tinubu who has the capacity in delivering good governance.

Also speaking, the Osun APC chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun stated that Tinubu has the capacity and sound health to be the next president.

“When elected, the evil veil in our country will be removed. He has built the foundation for Lagos state and he will replicate same in Nigeria.

“Our governor has promised over 1m vote from Osun. I want to urge you to go back to your grassroots with this gospel. Take the campaign of Tinubu to traditional rulers and religious leaders across the state. What is happening to us in this country can only be tackled by Asiwaju because of his capacity,” said Famodun.
