Ahead of the Saturday’s State Assembly election, Osun Police Command has assured residents of the state that there will be adequate security before, during and after the poll.

The Police who appreciated the people of the Osun for their comportment during the last presidential and national assembly elections, urged them to be more orderly this Saturday.

This was contained in a release issued by the Police PRO, Yemisi Opalola, made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

The Command noted that there will be restriction of vehicular and motorcycle movement from 12am to 6pm on the election day with exception for those on essential services.

In the statement, the Police warned against spreading of fake news and provocative content on social media with the intent to cause apprehension or panic in the state.

It urged parents and guardians to monitor their children and wards not to get involved in criminal act or being used as political thugs to disrupt the election process.

Politicians and their supporters were also warned to desist from violence for a peaceful conduct of election.
