NSE President attends Lagos Deputy Governor, Engr. Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat’s 60th birthday symposium

On September 28, 2024, the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, attended the 60th birthday symposium of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Engr. Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, FNSE.

The event, held at the Victoria Garden Events Centre, Alausa, Lagos, was themed: “Nigeria: Guiding the Youth on the Path to Self-Reliance.”

The symposium brought together leaders, professionals and key stakeholders to discuss critical issues surrounding youth empowerment and self-sufficiency in Nigeria.

The presence of NSE at the event was not only to celebrate Engr. Hamzat’s birthday but also to recognize his significant contributions to the Engineering profession, governance, and national development.

Engr. Hamzat’s leadership has continuously inspired future generations of Engineers, and his work within Lagos State has been pivotal to progress in infrastructure and policy innovation.

During the event, speakers highlighted Engr. Hamzat’s impactful career and his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Lagos State and Nigeria.

The symposium provided an excellent platform for sharing ideas on how to guide Nigerian youths towards self-reliance and entrepreneurship, drawing from the celebrant’s dedication and influence as a public servant and Engineer.

The NSE President emphasized that Engr. Hamzat’s leadership continues to set a high standard within the Engineering community, and the Society remains committed to supporting his visionary work.

“Indeed, the future is bright because of leaders like you,” NSE President stated.

The event also fostered productive dialogue on youth empowerment and the role of Engineers in nation-building.
