VICTOR  DURUAMAKU ,Owerri

The National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has noted that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has grossly failed the people of Nigeria

According to the former senator who had represented Imo West Senatorial District at the Senate, the APC led Government has nothing to show for being in power other than ” insecurity” which has led to loss of lives of innocent people particularly the youths

Addressing members of the correspondents chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (Imo State Council) at his country home in Amaimo Ikeduru local Government Area of the state Friday, the National Secretary added that following this development, a lot of people from other parties have been joining the People’s Democratic party

He said, ” now people of this country have come to realize that the ruling party the APC has failed and that the only party to join is the people’s Democratic party (PDP)”

The National Secretary said that the Peoples Democratic Party, is working very hard to take over from the APC for the purpose of rescuing the people from the clutches of insecurity, kidnapping, abduction and other forms of heinous crimes which have made life not worth living for the people

He also noted that apart from the high level of insecurity in the country, the roads particularly the federal roads in various parts of the country are in bad shape and remained death traps and impassable.

The National Secretary further pointed out that the most worrisome now is the depth burden being heaped on the people by the APC led Federal Government through the recent  multiple borrowing of foreign loans which according to him have run in to trillions of dollars.

Senator Anyanwu noted the bad implication of this high indebtedness  citing the state of the nation’s economy which according to him is evidenced by the present rate of the Naira Notes

He lamented that presently, the  Naira is exchanging at the rate of over N5, to N600 per dollar and asked, ” when shall Nigerians pay back these loans and be free from them?”

Senator Anyanwu said, ” with this development, Nigeria as a developing country , is the most indebted  country in the world meaning that the country would rain perpetually indebted till the end of the world”

He however urged Nigerians to vote out the bad Governments of the APC by  supporting and voting in the PDP, in all the coming elections

Meanwhile,  the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has thanked Nigerians for keeping fate throughout the year ,despite the challenges and high level of insecurity in the nation

According to him ‘’It is worthy that we give thanks and adulation to God for the opportunity to witness a brand new year, 2022.

‘’The outgone year came and went with challenges, especially with the second, third and fourth waves of the dreaded Corona Virus Disease; sundry upsets that troubled the peace and security in different parts of the country; a depressing economy and many touching stories of tragedies. For Nigerians, who lost dear ones to these calamities, it is my prayer that God shall continue to comfort the bereaved families.’’ He noyed

he said that this New Year, 2022 promises to be a remarkable one. It is one year that is filled with hope and optimism. It is one year that comes with a unique opportunity for us to redefine the remainder of this decade.  Moving forward into the decade of the 2020s, our New Year resolution should be about eschewing divisive and parochial tendencies and embracing inclusion and general good.

‘’We cannot continue to kick the same can down the road, yet again. We need a reawakening. And it is a reawakening that must invigorate our unity as one people of one good country. That is the commitment that we must pursue in this New Year.

We must seek to do something different and, in doing so, let us become peace ambassadors of God. Hate and strife never build a nation. They even destroy the individual faster.
Rather, unity and understanding bind a nation together.

Unlike hate and strife, an individual that chooses a life of unity and common understanding finds inner peace and love.

While I congratulate Nigerians on this New Year, 2022, let me urge us all to the task of washing our hands off every molecule of hate and strife and immerse our hearts in unity, love and peace.

I wish every Nigerian family a happy and prosperous Year 2022.
