Intervention team in Kogi East

Members of the Intervention Team Thursday in Ankpa held a Townhall meeting of leaders and elders of the Igala nation of the Kogi East Senatorial district. The meeting attended by the Attah of Igala, represented by High Chief Joseph Daikwo, was to interface and interact with stakeholders, focal groups including the traditional Chiefs, religious leaders, professionals, women and youths in Kogi East.

Addressing the Townhall meeting.g, Head of Intervention, Dr Ifedi Okwenna, urged the people to arise and take back their land and fight for their future and that of their children. He reminded them that Kogites have no business with poverty in such a verse arable land surrounded by two great rivers Niger and Benue, if not for poor leadership of the country. He assured Datti that Peter Obi/Ahmed Datti leadership will heal the land, bring abundance and restore the years of the locust.

Leaders and elders at the meeting formally endorsed Obi-datti ticket as their candidate of choice for President of Nigeria.

High Chief Daikwo on behalf of the Attah of Igala, prayed for God’s protection of Peter Obi and the team as they highlighted the people’s demands.

Highlight of the peoples demand to the incoming President Obi include:

1. The Completion of Ajaokuta Steel Company.
2. Construction of Bridge from Shintaku to Lokoja.
3. Construction of bridge from Idah to Agenebode
4. Linking Kogi East to the national grid and
5. Control of ravaging erosion challenges among many other demands.
