I met Nnamdi Kanu in good condition, says Orji Uzor Kalu after visiting IPOB leader in custody

Orji Uzor Kalu Visits Nnamdi Kanu In Custody, Reveals His Advise To IPOB Leader

Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu on Monday paid a visit to the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody in Abuja.

Sen. Kalu, representing Abia North said he and Nnamdi Kanu discussed as brothers during the meeting where he encouraged him to consider certain comments and actions for sake of the people. In a Facebook post on his verified page, the former Abia governor while revealing that he met Nnamdi Kanu in good health recalled how the family has been close to him after he made his (Nnamdi) father, late Eze Israel Okwu Kanu the traditional ruler of Akwara Ukwu during his day’s as Abia governor.

“This afternoon, I visited my brother, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody , Abuja . I met him in good health and care and we discussed as ‘Umunne’.

 

In 2001 when I was Governor, I made his father Eze Israel Okwu Kanu traditional ruler of Akwara Ukwu and since then the family has been very close to me .

“I understand that Nnamdi has an insane amount of people rooting for his back home and I encouraged him to consider the consequences of certain actions and utterances for the sake of the same people” he said.

According to the lawmaker, even though he shares a different ideology with the IPOB Leader, he owes him and people of Nigeria good counselling irrespective of whether such is accepted or not. “Even though, my ideology and his ideology are totally different , God has made us brothers and we can’t run away from each other.

I owe him and Nigerians good counseling …Whether he and his family listens to me or not, I will continue counseling him as I have always done in the past. What we need most is a peaceful and secured society” he added.

Meanwhile, In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the demise of the former Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemka Odumegwu Oukwu,the leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB,has honoured him  describing him as the greatest Igboman ever lived.

Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Eze Igbo Gburugburu, died 10 years ago.

In a statement issued and signed by MASSOB leader Comrade Uchenna Madu, “MASSOB described Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as the greatest Igbo man ever lived.

 

“Dim Chukwuemeka still remain the greatest Nigerian man that ever lived. He laid an unforgettable foundation for enhancement and restoration of true Africanism and total liberation of black man from western domination.”

 

Madu recalled that “Ojukwu was the  president of Biafra and a General of the Peoples Army. He stood for true justice, total freedom and equity for all.  We are celebrating a living legend, a symbol of Igboism, the lion that his fear conquers the enemies of his people.”

 

He exlained that “Today we have gathered to reflect, refresh and revive the consciousness of Ojukwuism in Igboland.

 

“As we celebrate the legendary of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Eze Igbo Gburugburu, MASSOB celebrates the release of our members from Awka and Onitsha prisons after spending more than 15 years in detention,”,Madu stated.

 

He disclosed that “Mrs Onyekachi Orji, Emmanuel Orji, Uche Idikaigbo, Micheal Okezie, Uchenna Nicholas, Peter Igbokwe, Ikechukwu Agbara, Okwudiri Bassey, Chima Asor, Chinweike Irondi, Sabastine Amadi, Casmir Odokara, Ojemba Anyanwu, Eni Kalu, Ndubuisi Okam, Ikechukwu Chikwem,

Chukwuma Kalu,

Chidiebere Chikwem and

Mmaduabuchi Asika  journeyed through the valley of Nigeria injustice and inhumanity against the people of Biafra, they were falsely accused and  prosecuted by the  Nigeria police,  abandoned by the Fulani judges of federal high court and subjected to undescribable tortures, psychological and traumatic pains by the Nigeria prison officials for the past 15 years.”

The MASSOB leader averred that “These great Biafrans survived and endured the hopeless dungeon until Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe and Christy Anyanwu intervened on July 2021 after our meeting with them at Enugu.”

 

“MASSOB thanks  the most eloquent and fearless Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe that contacted the Eastern Bar during their 2021 annual convention in Enugu over the unjust plight of our members.

 

” We also thank JK Gadzama (SAN) and team of lawyers from Eastern Bar in their unrelenting efforts in securing the release of our members.”

 

MASSOB appealed for more intervention and extension of hands of assistance for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and others unjustly detained because of Biafra.
