Fuel Crisis: Nigeria, European Union sign readmission agreement on integration, energy.

Nigeria and the European Union EU has began highly crucial 2 working days negotiation with a view to signing an agreement with the aim of facilitating cooperation that would enhance integration and energy supply to both parties

At a high level engagement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja, both Nigeria and the EU expressed optimism that the signing of a Nigeria-European Union readmission agreement would facilitate integration and energy supply.

Speaking at the parley on Thursday, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria Amb Samuela Isopi said that the European Union welcomes the the idea of signing of a readmission agreement to enhance cooperation  with Nigeria for all the 27 countries of the EU

The negotiation agreement she noted are the gateway to an enhanced bilateral and multilateral relationship for both parties and will redelineate the frontiers of boundary of cooperation in many areas.

Also speaking on the benefits of the parley her counterpart Amb.Obinna Onowu said that the signing of the agreement is going to enhance the issuance of visa and other travelling documents for Nigeria and EU nationales.

He said that the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels Belgium is working closely with the European Union Commission to ensure that areas of cooperation and integration is enhanced for the benefit of citizens of both parties in the agreement.

At the end of the engagement, there is hope for improved energy supply especially gas from Belgium to Nigeria to power plants and equipment needed for manufacturing of goods in Nigeria.

There are currently 27 European Union  member countries that are represented by the EU envoy in the latest agreement including France Belgium, Crotia, Cyprus Bulgaria, Lativa and Estaonia among others.
