Former Enugu Lands Commissioner’s Property Faces Demolition

The last word may not have been heard of the recent saga of the resignation of former youthful Enugu state Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development.

The ex-Commissioner, Dr Surv. Victor Nnam, whose former post has been reassigned to former Information Commissioner ,Nnanyelugo Aroh, recently resigned his commission on account of undue interference and pressures from high quarters.

Dr Nnam is once again in the news as his prime property situate at Diamond Estate Enugu has been reportedly marked for demolition by state authorities.

The said property is proximal and shares neighborhood with those of the state deputy governor, Hon Cecilia Ezeilo, and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Edwar Ubosi.
No reasons have been so far adduced for the proposed action.

However, efforts to reach both the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority and the state Lands Ministry proved abortive their official telephone lines rang severally without being answered.
However ,sources close to Dr Nnam who could not be reached, insist that action may not be unconnected with his recent resignation as a member of the Enugu stat executive council.

“It appears that they are angry with the way he left and embarrassed the government as one that is not living above board. Otherwise, could he have allocated and built his house on a wrong place as an expert and the relevant commissioner in charge of allocation”, the source queried.
