EFCC raids two popular restaurants in Enugu

Operatives of the Anti Graft Agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Enugu branch, has raided two more popular eateries and restaurants in the Coal City of Enugu,Enugu state, Nigeria, less than 48 hours after an earlier reported sting operation penultimate Wednesday night.

This is reported invasion of Castle Majestic hotel in Ogui Township,Enugu where members of the National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS, National Youth Council of Nigeria,NYCN, among other associations were having meetings, and subsequently detained some of the youths and hotel staff had been widely condemned by youth organisations and other stakeholders.

An eye witness at Crunchies intimated our reporter under condition of anonymity that it happened in the early morning of Saturday, September 18th, 2021.

He added that apart from Crunchies located on Rangers Avenue in the highbrow Indepence Layout of Enugu metropolis, another joint like Ntachi Osa eatry in the New Haven axis was equally affected.

However, at the press time, our reporter was unable to get official statement from the two entries.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer, EFCC Enugu, Zonal Head Quarters, Mrs. Bethel when asked through a phone call to react to the incident said she was yet to be briefed on the development.
Lately,operatives have been conducting series of sting operations which industry sources are not only unwarranted but are illegal and lacking any court warrants for those invasion and this reportedly affecting the tourist industry in Enugu.
