COVID-19: Nigerians urged to observe Monday, April 6 as National Day of Prayers

Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora have been urged to observe Monday, April 6, 2020 as the National Day of Prayers to pray and give glory to God for His mercy and continuous protection for the Nigeria in particular and the world as a  whole.

According to the Grand Patron of a group, Legacy Initiative International, Dr. Kenny Martins, in a statement, the payers became necessary because in the past three months, the Coronavirus has become a pandemic of monumental proportion and has killed thousands of people all over the world.

Dr Martins also said the prayers were for God’s continuous protection for leaders, families, neighbours and means of livelihood in these difficult and perilous times as well as to continue to maintain the recommended stay-at- home order and social distancing.

He also said the group, which is mobilizing all Nigerians for the prayers, has been in consultations with the religious leaders and traditional rulers including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on the need to have a National Day of Prayers, adding: “Each of the leaders has given his support for the Prayers”.

“All members of the Legacy and all people of goodwill should as much as possible assist in the mobilization of Nigerians and lovers of  Nigeria wherever they are for this very important Day of Prayers for Divine healing for all te sick anywhere in the World”, Dr. Martins stated.
