Court grants suspended AGF, Ahmed Idris, two others Administrative Bail on alleged N109b fraud

The FCT High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has today granted suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris Bail over allegations of money laundering levelled against him.

Justice A.O. Adeyemi Ajayi granted the prayer of Idris and three other defendants in the Case that they should be granted bail, pending the determination of his case.

Idris appeared before the court, on a 14-count charge of stealing and criminal breach of trust to the tune of N109, 485,572,691.9. He is arraigned alongside Godfrey Olusegun Akindele, Mohammed Kudu Usman and Gezawa Commodity Market and Exchange Limited who stand as 2nd to 4th defendants in the Case.

Justice Adeyemi granted them bail based on the Administrative conditions of the EFCC by which they were granted an earlier bail and adding that the defendants are not to leave Abuja until the duration of the trial, except by the order of the court.
