Biu APC stakeholders back Zulum second term bid, warns opposition against fake news

All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Biu local government area resident in Maiduguri have thrown their weight behind the second term bid of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state.

 

Also, they strongly condemned insinuations and fake news being spread that Governor Zulum was booed in Biu, describing it false, baseless and work of enemies of peace and progress as well as  moved to bring confusion in the state.

 

Briefing newsmen  on Thursday at the NUJ Press Centre, Maiduguri, the chairman of the Forum, Arch. Yerima Saleh said “at this juncture, we want to condemn in strong terms insinuation and fake news being spread purportedly as otherwise of the successes of His Excellency’s last visit to Biu and the Emirate from the entry to departure as work of enemies of peace and progress and as fragments of the imagination of such wicked souls”

 

“We wish to put on record and reaffirm our unshaken support and loyalty to the administration’s efforts in its determination to attain a lasting peace in Borno state and pray as well that peace return to all parts of our dear Nigeria as whole”, the group added.

 

The Forums chairman,  who is also the state commissioner for the Environment said “it could be recall that Tuesday 13th September, 2022, our Executive Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum visited Biu local government area and spent four days up to Friday 16th September, 2022 during which he commissioned  people –oriented developmental projects and interacted with people of the local government across board.”.

 

While commending  Governor Zulum for commissioning of laudable projects during his four days official visit to the area  from Tuesday, 13th to Friday 16th September, 2022, Arch. Saleh said “the visit started with the commissioning of 30 classroom Mega school in Buratai town, after which  His Excellency visited a road washout spot along Miringa Gunda road.His Excellency was welcomed along all routes  he fellowed by a tumultuous turnout of our people both old and young who displayed on their faces unprecedented happiness and display of love to their leader” .

 

He said during the visit, Zulum in addition to the commissioning of Buratai Mega school and newly built Higher Community Islamic School and project monitoring office both in Biu  also commissioned community  health facility in Miringa town and laid foundation for the construction of Mega vocational centre in Biu “.

 

The APC stakeholders further said “as 2023 election approaches, the Governor during the visit also  interacted with political groups businessmen and, cultural group among other groups  where he brokered peace , as well as received PDP decampees. .

 

Also celebrating the successful  of the governor visit to area, elders and APC stakeholders in Biu expressed their profound gratitude to the governor and his entourage for finding time inspire his crowded schedules  to spent four days in Biu.

 

The group reassured their continued support and commitment to the second term project of Governor Zulum and Tinubu/ Shettima presidential ticket come February, 2023.
