Dr. Jasper Chidiebube Uche was born to the Uche family of  Umuaku. Instructively, his parents were teachers in Umuaku education at Umuaku Primary and Umuaku Secondary Schools respectively.

Many authorities have posited that leaders are born rather than groomed. This theory has been developed into The Trait theory. of which the leading proponent is Raymond Cattell.

Jasper showed leadership traits early in secondary school where he had his first appointment as labour prefect of Umuaku Secondary School and played active roles in debate and drama clubs not excluding the press club of the school.

At Abia State University where he was admitted to read political science, his leadership qualities came up as he was elected the president of the student union.

Many experiences support that student unionism is a springboard for world leadership exemplified by Michael Gove, British Education Secretary, and Boris Johnson, former MP.

Chidiebube is characterized by achievements as his one-year stay in Igalamela in Kogi State during the compulsory NYSC has footprints which are still evident as he had multiple commendations in the Community Development programs popularly knowns as CD.

Thereafter on graduation, he was drafted into legislative work under the no-nonsense Senator Chukwumereije in the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Along the line and call of duty, his diligence and strict attention to facts and details attracted the prying eyes of Sen. T A Orji, the then Governor of Abia State who appointed him as the Adviser on sports and later media.

Jesper is a thorough bred in politics and administration. Additionally, in 2010 and 2014 he served as the Transitional Council Chairman of his LGA. In the spiritual realm, he is a staunch member of Assemblies of God Church, a pentecostal sect that teaches and practices service and loyalty, abhorring insurrection be it internal or external. In the same vein, he is a member of CASOR (Christian Ambassadors Students Outreach) known for true humility and honesty.

In truth, Abia State can not get a better deal with the duo of Ahiwe and Uche.

Certainly, he is an all-rounder as he is a lecturer, a political analyst, and a strategist. He is equally a born-again Christian who has copiously read and adopted many epistles of Saint Paul that ranks loyalty and obedience above every other thing.

As we are all aware, the recent death of Prof Eleazar Ikonne shook Abia to its foundations and necessitated the need for substitution in gubernatorial candidacy and other adjustments wisely handled by the PDP leadership.

Chief Okey Ahiwe who is a renowned industrialist and business magnet has emerged as the PDP flag bearer. As profiled by Doctor Onyemwaku and other commentators like Ukaegbu, Okey is okay with being qualified for the assignment.

As a human development strategist with rich experience in management, community, and selfless  service, Abia is in for a new deal. According to proverbs 27:12 ‘iron sharpens iron, and one sharpens another.’ As we can see Jasper Chidiebube Uche has proven in all his previous appointments to be a good team player. He will assist Ahiwe to lead Abia to the promised Land adhering intently to Romans 13:1 ‘let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.’

May God help us.
