APC Presidential candidate Tinubu takes campaign to  Ebonyi

 

.Vows to end estimated billing for electricity consumers

The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate Kassim Shetima, on Thursday flaged-off the State Presidential/Gubernatorial rally  in abakaliki Ebonyi state capital with a pledge to phase out the Estimated Billing System imposed on consumers if elected.

 

Asiwaju Tinubu made the assertion while addressing thousands of supporters and party faithfuls who thronged the Abakaliki Township Stadium for the event .

 

He said that it was only a Progressive Party like the APC that can change Nigeria”

 

“We would phase out Estimated Billing Method by Discos, they are extortionists”

 

“Am from the city, I know what Estimated Billing is, Education of our people is important, it is the greatest weapon to poverty, we will revive our schools”

 

“In the 16 years of PDP Govt, we had no grid, inspite of the $16 billion spent on Power”

 

” we dont want to go backwards, we will do the right thing, move Nigeria forward”

 

Speaking against the backdrop of the Transportation Sector, Asiwaju Tinubu said that it was a must for Economic resusitation.

 

Earlier in an address, the National Chairman of APC Senator Abdulahi Adamu represented by the Deputy National Chairman (South) Chief Emma Eneukwu, said that the party had a good product in the person of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

 

“When you have a good product, you dont labour yourself, Asiwaju Tinubu is the man to beat”

 

“I urge citizens to support all other candidates of the APC contesting various political positions in the State”

 

Welcoming the party faithfuls/ supporters, Governor David Umahi  said that there was no other party in Ebonyi State outside the APC.

 

“The massive turn-out shows Ebonyi is APC, our people have benefited from APC government,

 

Umahi reiterated that the people can not be dragged into tribal/religious sentiment.

 

“Jagaban has done it in Lagos, we in Ebonyi State are imitating what Tinubu did in Lagos”

 

Highlights of the event included the official hand-over of the APC Flag to the party Governorship Candidate in Ebonyi State Hon Francis Nwifuru, his running mate Mrs Patricia Obila, and all Senatorial /National Assembly candidates and House of Assembly candidates of Ebonyi State.

 

In attendance during the rally included the National Chairman of APC Senator Abdulahi Adamu, represented by the Vice Chairman (South) Mr Emma Eneukwu, Governors of Jigawa (Bagudu Abubakar, Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Professor Zulum (Bornu).

 

Others include Governor Ben Ayade (Cross River), the Director General of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council Governor Solomon Lalong, the Ebonyi State  deputy Governor Kelechi Igwe,  members of Ebonyi State Executive Council, Speaker of State House of Assembly Hon Francis Nwifuru, and the Director General of Ebonyi State Campain Council Chief Austin Umahi among others.

 

The rally was preceded by a Town Hall meeting held at the Executive Council Chambers Government House where Asiwaju Tinubu was confered with a Chieftaincy title of “Dike Di Oha Mma ” (Warrior that is Loved by his people), by Eze Charles Nkpuma on behalf of the Traditional Rulers Council.
